Dummy Keyboard for Barcode Scanner
Multibug Dummy Keyboard enables PS/2 Barcode Scanner to work without Keyboard installed.
In situations where you may want to use a "keyboard wedge" type barcode scanner (for legacy software support), but don't want to have a keyboard plugged into the through port, a problem is often encountered with getting the PC to see the barcode scanner. Normally, a keyboard is required to provide the correct initialisation responses in order that the PC will accept further input from the PS/2 keyboard port.
The Multibug PS/2 Dummy Keyboard provides the ideal solution. To the PC and the barcode scanner, it looks like a real keyboard, but is compact and discrete enough to be tucked out of the way with the barcode scanner cabling.
This can also provide a solution for using PS/2 keyboard wedge barcode scanners with a laptop computer, where you want to use the laptop's inbuilt keyboard rather than have to fit an external keyboard to enable the scanner to work. However, it should be noted that with some laptops, the internal keyboard is automatically disabled when it detects an external keyboard (or dummy keyboard) is connected to the PS/2 port.

The Dummy Keyboard can also provide a solution to the similar problem found with other keyboard wedge devices, such as PS/2 magnetic stripe card readers.
